Floating Ball Valve

MOTO VALVE supplies ball valves with lapped “ball-seat” pairs for severe service conditions, generally for the oil, chemical, and petrochemical industries.
Applications:
• Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU)
• Delayed Coking Unit (DCU)
• Catalytic Reforming Unit
• Hydrocracking Unit

• Lapped balls and seats ensure 100% sealing surface contact, providing absolute tightness.
• Sharp front edges of the seat clean the ball each time it operates, preventing from residue.
• The ball protects the seats from flow when the valve is open or closed, reducing wear of the sealing surfaces.
• Double anti-extrusion rings keep graphite seals from moving.
• A quarter-turn, anti-blowout stem design prevents packing damage.
• Cushioning seals ensure reliable, uninterrupted operation even under severe temperature fluctuations.

BALL
Standard:
• 410SS/chromium carbide coating — applied using high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) spraying.
Composition:
• 17-4PH, 329SS, 316SS, Inconel, Iron 255, Hastelloy, Monel, Titanium, Zirconium.
Characteristics:
• Machined and lapped to ensure a perfect spherical surface.
• Each ball and seat undergoes special treatment to ensure 100% contact across the entire seat surface.
• Special coating to achieve a hardness of at least 62 HRC.
• Increased size allows for a 5-7% increase in valve stroke, reducing wear and preventing unintended opening due to actuator failure or misadjustment.
• Blunt hole edges to prevent coating cracks.
SEATS
Standard:
• 410SS/chromium carbide coating.
Composition:
• 17-4PH, 329SS, 316SS, Stellite 6, Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Alloy 20, Titanium, Zirconium.
Characteristics:
• Wide sealing surface on each seat minimizes nicks and scratches that cause leaks.
• Each seat is lapped on both the front and back sides to the ball and body to ensure seal integrity.
• All seals are metal — no grafoil or PTFE materials behind the seats.
